Funeral Arrangements For Ledger Set

There were six different types of prescription drugs in the apartment, including pills to treat insomnia and anxiety, and an antihistamine, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. A rolled-up $20 bill was found on the floor near the bed, but New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said lab tests found nothing to indicate the bill had been used to snort drugs. Police also said no illegal drugs were found in the apartment. The law enforcement officials said three of the drugs were prescribed in Europe. Ledger had recently been filming in London. Police have said Ledger's death may have been caused by a drug overdose and appeared to be accidental. On Thursday, the makeshift memorial outside Ledger's apartment building had grown to more than 100 bouquets including tulips, daisies, carnations and tropical flowers, along with candles, signs, notes and other memorials.

Find out if you’re heading into harm’s way

Travelers who have booked a trip through a tour operator likely won't have to decide themselves whether to postpone a trip, says Harvey Boysen, president of Gulliver's Travel in Fort Worth. The tour operator will make the decision based on reports from local offices. But if you're on your own, or just like to have all the information you can, here are ways to make an informed decision, keep yourself safe and possibly keep your savings intact if the worst happens.1. Find on-the-ground reports.Obviously the most effective way to really know what's happening is talking to people who are there. The key here is geography. Will trouble in Oaxaca affect your trip to Mexico City? News reports don't always pinpoint your vacation spot."You really need to be sure that you have a resource you can turn to for independent information,'' said Pamela Lassers, director of media relations for Abercrombie and Kent in Chicago.

Pharmacy and accounting volunteers fill important roles

During World War II he joined the Navy as a pharmacist. However, the Navy sent him to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy to get a degree in marine engineering and then sent him out to sea.

After the war he was a neighborhood pharmacist and then a medical service representative for Eli Lilly & Co. The company transferred him to Jacksonville in 1973. Currently he is a consultant pharmacist for nursing homes and surgery centers.

He was attending a meeting of the Northeast Florida Society of Hospital Pharmacists and an old friend, Jim Burt, came to speak to the group and ask for volunteers to work at the pharmacy at Volunteers in Medicine. Located downtown on East Duval Street, VIM is a volunteer-run medical clinic improving the health of Jacksonville area residents by providing free outpatient medical services to the working uninsured.

Grand green vision for S.F.'s Parkmerced

The owners of San Francisco's Parkmerced want to add nearly 5,700 homes to the World War II-era rental housing complex, an ambitious renovation that could rank as one of the greenest in the country.

Over 20 years, the developer says, the minimum $1.2 billion project would take the 115-acre property off the power grid by employing wind turbines and other low-emission energy sources, slash water consumption through improved plumbing and recycling, and halve tenants' automobile use by, among other things, adding public transportation options.

"I almost consider it a moral obligation in a project of this size to be responsible and do whatever we can do to help confront the problem of climate change," said Craig Hartman, lead architect on the project and partner with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.

Could Obama Turn Red States Blue?

The demographics in those states have shifted toward Democrats of late, and the party made gains in each in 2006.

A far more debatable premise is whether Obama is uniquely suited to put red states in play.

The South would appear to be the stronger part of his argument, as many of the states in the region have significant black populations that have supported him beyond all historical comparisons in the contests to date.

But, there is far more to the story in the South, according to Tom Schaller, an associate professor at the University of Maryland at Baltimore County and the author of "Whistling Past Dixie: How Democrats Can Win Without the South."

Schaller argued that while it is "tempting to think that Southern states will be competitive, thanks to a very motivated African American base .

Not your parents' tasting room

There are bikes, toys, books, and a dog and two cats to help entertain any visiting children.

Becky Larson, owner of Larson Family Winery in Sonoma, remembers wine tasting with her now 7-year-old twins when they were toddlers. "We couldn't enjoy the experience" because there was nothing for them to do, she says.

Soon after, Larson and husband, Tom, brought a child-size table into the tasting room with coloring books and crayons. Children are offered a tray of juice and snacks such as granola bars. And outside the tasting room, there are hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a swing, a bocce court with balls, some sheep and a llama named Dolly, not to mention three friendly Labradors roaming about.

Larson Family's wine club has become so popular with families that events often include a bounce house and wagon or pony rides.
